Good bit of business. Now we can get Tommy Smith for a realistic price, (before Watford fold) and perhaps a winger too.

Demis Roussos over at Watford has conceded the club may have to sell Tommy Smith as, "he does not fit into the Hornet's new wage structure".

Smith does not want to be embroiled in a relegation struggle this year, he also wants to join Reading.
Sheff Utd bid £1.8 milion, but don't have the cash. Watford are skint. Smith is off, make no mistake and Russo is trying to save face.
Talk Sport are reporting that this is his last game for Watford. Although they are less reliable than a Tory manifesto, he will be off, hopefully in this direction, but not for anything more than £1 million.

It will be interesting to see what punishment Reading receive for tapping up Smith if he does join...

Then why post that TS is "going nowhere"? Hope in vain perhaps? Sounds as though he has already packed his trunk doesn't it? 
The tapping up 'scandal' has been dead for weeks dead BTW. Just Mr Russo venting his spleen and local media hype. No substance, certainly nothing that would have stood up at an enquiry.
It will be more interesting to see how the Watford chairman removes the egg from his face if and when TS joins Reading at a 'realistic' fee.
The Mirror, reports that both Smith and Mc Anuff are headed to Reading for around £2.5 million. We have cash to spend so it may be true. There are several other rumours, but nothing concrete as yet. Watford have lined up Barnet winger Albert Adomah as a possible replacement for Mc Anuff, who is reportedly unhappy with this new, (reduced), contract terms.
