MERRY XMASS

Post by OLDMAN »

Sitting here doing very little and as several work colleagues have already left for holidays and won’t see them until the New Year plus I will be off so will only make sporadic visits to the forum as usually doing so many other things in my own time – so I thought I would start a simple thread…………

Post what you want but make it one theme – MERRY XMAS

Saw this up at St Peters Church and thought just right -

Oldman........

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I had to kill because they annoyed me........................

I hug everybody –
It’s not affection, I’m just measuring up how big a hole I need to dig for the body!

Sorry Pete. Put my size 11 right in it again as usual. It must be Derbyshire?? Well outside humbug territory.

Anyway have good health and a good time regardless of Christmas.

Those cordless hairdriers are good aren't they Vot, although that alien doesn't seem too happy with it? :? Could be due to the total lack of hair of course, but we have all received presents just as useless in the past! :-)

I think that you are probably 'fully furnished' yourself cav, however that Alien appears to be suffering from a shortage in the 'lower ground floor' area? :?

Hehehh. You scamps. Leave you alone for five minutes and you’re up to mischief. Ah now, we aliens have a very special system, but I couldn’t possibly tell you - although, it does take a lot of practice........ 😏

In my young and "free again" thirties, a "tradition" was, on Christmas morning to have a line of coke, champagne and strawberries (I may have recounted this before) I'm not sure my body could cope with that these days and I'm not about to test it. Any way I have no idea how much it costs these days - nor where to get it. No thanks I don't wish to know. 8)

I assume D5 that the auto correct raised its head again and you meant a can of coke.

Strawberries? A bit out of season.

Bucks fizz and smoked salmon for us. Plus possibly one of Nigella's festive treats.

Christmas morning in Caversham. Mince pies (home made). Then leave the ladies in peace to do the important work and all the men folk up to the Pack Saddle for Whisky Macs etc. Then back for the feast and the head of the family to carve the bird and open the wine, without pushing the cork in.

No breathalysers and no seat belts and myself on a BSA Bantam and a tad under drinking age.

Those were the days my friend . . I thought they'd never end . . .

Traditional Xmas morning breakfast in this area for years was pork pie and red cabbage, Mrs Windrush and her family loved it. The tradition appears to have died out now though.

I quite fancy that Pete. These days I tend to have scrambled egg and a little smoked salmon.
