The Reading Branch of the Berkshire Family History Society are meeting again at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Tilehurst, RG30 4PE on Thurs 26th May at 7.45pm (doors open from 7pm).
After a brief Branch Annual Meeting we will be discovering the history of Reading’s Hospitals from 1837 to the present day in this fascinating talk.
The talk mainly focuses on the Royal Berkshire Hospital, which opened on London Road, Reading in 1839, but also includes some information about Battle & Prospect Park Hospitals.
Free parking.
Free entry for members, non-members are invited to make a £3 donation towards costs.
Pre-booking is preferred but not essential, at https://berksfhs.org/.../the-history-of ... hospitals/
Please note that as this is a face to face talk, prevailing Coronavirus precautions will be in place. Please see: https://berksfhs.org/face-to-face-event ... -security/

I have a few photos of Park Hospital staff from the Great war period when my Grandmother was a nurse there.
