Reading - the Movie

Post by piwacket »

Saw the interview about this on South Today yesterday
http://www.katejacksonmusic.com/romsey-the-movie/

... and immediately thought how well Reading would fit that sort of publicity!

I thought it was lovely :)

Hold on, in all seriousness folk, there IS a new movie out or out soon that is apparently set in Reading.. I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called, but I was reading about my yesterday......

To search history I go...........

Edit, not a movie, a drama

Hasn't there already been a movie titled Give My Regards to Broad Street?

Reddings where biscuits were made
But Now we abseil down The Blade
No more bulbs, no more beer
No more books are printed here.
Instead there’s loads coffee shops
In the place of those tasty hops
Crusty jugglers, dogs on string
Let’s all hear the buskers sing
Fairy lights and climate tropical
Read it all in the Chronic-al (lol)
Still I’d not live any other place
Cos then I’d have to move me heyse!

I rode my bike
Down the ballast holes
Ran with the Cubs
Through Palmer Park
Fumbled with a girl
On the Horseshoe Bridge
Born in Newtown

Are there no more locally born and bred? Not me, as I didn’t get here until I was 10.... but do find the history of the town and area fascinating.

It would be good to have a film to celebrate the town's anniversary next year.
