East Reading Gas Works Site

Post by OneGorman »

You’ll never guess?

Flats and more flats. 130 of them.

Thank God East Reading doesn’t have a traffic problem!

Have they removed the tar pit? Used to be so good for coughs and colds.

As the area this is being built on is roughly equivalent to about 1/8th of the existing estate down there, and all that traffic currently uses Kenavon Drive to get in / out, and I've never seen that clogged up even at peak times, I presume they have taken all that into account!

TBBH - Sadly RBC have to meet housing criteria targets set by central government and that has to be within RBC borders, so a small area compared to other councils
If flats / apartment blocks are the answer so be it as they go up in relatively small footprint areas

Rather than…………

Only other choice is to build on green land / parks etc so we would loose all our open spaces…..NO THANKS!
